downloaded a demo project from github, made a manifest file. I did everything as written in the instructions, but when I launch the buttons on the smartphone are not active.

sorry but i have godot vesion 3.2.3 on the new version admob is different

That video is for 3.2.3. I am pretty sure he posted it in his read me on github.

Everything turned out to be much simpler. I used the wrong godot version.
