I thought I understood how it works after watching different tutorials

but as I draw a map, it only keeps using the first tile

I also tried setting bitmaps in center of each tile

what am I missing ?

You need to have the center bit selected in order to use the tile. What do your bits with the center bit selected look like?

ok, I had to set it to 3x3 minimal

what's the difference with 3x3 ??

3x3 requires 256 tiles while 3x3 minimal requires 47
