How do I use audio limiter?

I have a rigid body that makes the sound impact louder as its velocity delta increase.
Now when there's multiple of them, those sounds started earraping me.
So, I have to use an audio limiter but their description is just not very clear to me and I don't want to lose my ear to test it.
I also tested it a few times, but the result was still the same.
