I have an LineEdit control that I want to change the background color on (red/green) based on condition: aka:

if (capacity < 0):
    shell_remainingcapacity_value.bg_color(<red>)
else:
    shell_remainingcapacity_value.bg_color(<green>)

There were some posts about creating a custom style, but I couldn't seem to get them to actually change color. They didn't throw any errors, but no color change happened. The color could be getting toggled back and forth a lot based on what the user is doing. Any ideas? I even considered hiding and showing two different static controls, but that seemed hacky. Thanks in advance for any help?
