I have found several threads where people claim they did this but when I open a .tscn in Notepad++ all I see is nulnulnulnulnul… etc. Is there some plugin or encoding that I am messing up?

I guess one of my scenes was corrupted, because I am able to open some of my other .tscns in Notepad++. If anyone has any insight please let me know!

A .tscn file should just be a standard text file. So, most any text editor should work fine. Not sure what might be wrong with the offending file. Here are some docs in case they’re helpful…

You must have a corrupt tscn file. They are basically text, and editable in any text editor.
