app-versions with and without ads

Hi everyone,

this might be a bit Godot-unspecific, but I wonder if anyone can tell me how to deal with purchasable apps, meaning switching off ads (and maybe enable blocked features) after purchasing.

Instead of checking the purchased/not-purchased state from the app store server and enable/disable ads with an according boolean, would it be possible to have two versions on the app-store? I could imagine that an installed “free” version with ads could just be replaced by one without ads after purchasing, which would be perfectly fine in my case, because there aren’t any saved stats or such to be “transferred”. Is that possible or maybe even a common procedure?
