so let me explain the whole thing

i have a resource file with packed scene and also 1 custom property in it. I pack the scene, attach a script to the resource, add a custom property with the script and then save the file

then i need to load this resource file with a scene in it and a custom property. But there is one problem: the script i use to load resource file doesn't see it's custom property , giving an error Only identifier, attribute access, and subscription access can be used as assignment target. , not allowing entire script to run and load the resource file.

any idea how to fix this? thanks

I am not sure what it looks like in your case but I had this issue when I forgot to type node's attribute. Maybe it is a simple syntax error as well. Seems like an assignment goes to a node directly or something.

Example:

$Label = mytext # wrong
$Label.text = mytext # correct
