Particle2D in Godot 3.0.x slower than Godot 2.1.x

Hi everybody!

I am creating a small 2D games with Godot 3.0.5 and I would like to reuse a scene I made with Godot 2.1.4. The scene is quite simple and uses a Particle2D node to produce a waterfall of stars when the game’s level is complete.

I discovered that version 3.0.x has introduced the ParticleMaterial resource to config many aspects of the particle effect, so I decided to rebuild that simple scene in order to get acquainted with the new method.

I noticed that even if I set the same “amount”, “spread”, “velocity”, “gravity”, etc… the whole effect is much slower than the one in Godot 2.1.4.

I played around with many of the parameters, but I cannot manage to reproduce the same rapid and fluid “starfall” as in the previous Godot version. See videos below.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.
David
