I understand that the Godot engine is under the MIT license but I don't know if that license then applies to my own personal creations in unity?

You can do whatever you want with you game. Feel free to share it with everyone or sell it at any cost you want without problems. I would recommend this official article. As you can read there, the only rule is that you have to include a copy of the MIT-license that will apply to the godot parts, not to your game as a whole.

I'm not sure what you mean with your 'own personal creations in unity'. Nevertheless I hope I was able to make things clearer.
