I knew about godot-python and though it was the de-facto solution. I made a full system reinstall, and while I was getting back to godot I found godopy with the double of contributors. What did I miss?

I understand godopy is a cython binding, and using it right now doesn't make much sense since they are working on a complete rewrite.
Neither project can be exported to android right now. (ie: https://github.com/godopy/godopy/issues/2)

Did I get it right? Opinions on why use one or the other?
Why are there so many contributors to godopy if it's only a prototype? while godot-python just works
