Daz Studio to Godot pipeline?

I’m new to all of this. I’ve been messing around with Godot and would like to start a game project. I have bought a lot of Daz Studio assets I would like to import into Godot. But it seems like every tutorial I’ve seen doesn’t work for me and is more than a year old.

I’ve tried Godot Game Tools. Issue with that, downloading mixamo fbx files only gives hair back with skin download. Also skin texture (arms, legs, torso, face, eyes) are seperate image files and fbx only has ‘body’ mesh for one image. Daz/BVH process to rigify in blender is confusing as hell. I end up with a mangled body or something godot can’t read.

Is there a updated process somewhere that i’m missing? I really want to learn and use godot. But it’s difficult to keep excited wasting hours on a process that ends up being a total waste of time. Anything helpful is appreciated. Thanks.

I don’t know Daz Studio at all, but the upcoming godot 3.3 (currently in release candidate 7) will come with a big improvement in importing FBX files, you definitely want to use that if you work with fbx with Godot. https://godotengine.org/article/fbx-importer-rewritten-for-godot-3-2-4
